UTSA SBDC Congratulates the 16th Graduating Class of the Building Business Excellence Program

The UTSA Small Business Development Center (SBDC) welcomed its 16th class of Building Business Excellence (BBE) graduates into its alumni base of more than 150 entrepreneurs this past Tuesday, April 9, at Liberty Bar, located in historic Southtown.

The largest class in BBE’s history, this year’s cohort included: Amanda Burris (Dixie Flag and Banner Company); Nina Contreras (Wave Healthcare, LLC); Jose Del Bosque (Cotovi); David Erps (Wave Healthcare, LLC); Karina Esparza (PuroClean of San Antonio NW); Catherine Flores (Wave Healthcare, LLC); Chris Flores (Air-Stream Air Conditioning and Heating Co., Inc.); Tiffany Furst (Worldwide Languages & Communication, LLC); Morgan Meyer (Dixie Flag and Banner Company); Gloria Morales (Worldwide Languages & Communication, LLC); Sandra Narvaez (Wave Healthcare, LLC); Lorena Ortega (Dixie Flag and Banner Company); Carlos Palos (Mundo Verde Irrigation & Landscaping); Regina Román (Worldwide Languages & Communication, LLC); Erica Santana (Integrated Human Capital – Santana Group); and Trichia Stoddard (J.C. Stoddard Construction, Inc.).

Each year the UTSA SBDC joins forces with Holt Development Services, Inc., a division of Holt CAT, to offer BBE over the course of seven intensive weeks. During the program, facilitators share practices in integrating Holt’s widely celebrated Values Based Leadership principles into the participants’ companies. BBE topics include the Values Based Leadership Approach, DiSC Model, Situational Leadership II, Influencing Skills, Conflict Resolution, Hiring Practices, and Ethics.
