Tammy Mowles was born an entrepreneur and has a great capacity for achievement. She is one of the owners of Spirit Halloween stores in San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley. Tammy focuses on finding temporary lease space and selling franchise Halloween merchandise from costumes, props, and spooky yard & home decorations.

Tammy was initially referred to Senior Advisor Patrice McElfresh by Mary Peters of the Southwest Texas Border Region office. Patrice and Tammy have worked together over several years to grow Halloween business and to isolate the business from potential liabilities. This is a seasonal business but it keeps Tammy busy year-round. The UTSA SBDC assists in many areas, from locations to unemployment taxes.

Tammy has been a client of the UTSA SBDC since 2014 and over that time has created 58 new jobs while retaining 174 jobs.
