Business Start-Up Essentials

This session will introduce the requirements for starting and operating a small business, importance of a business plan, and available resources. Choosing a name and legal structure including sole proprietor, partnership, limited liability corporation, or corporation, will also be discussed.

The Business Plan

Designed for those planning to start a new business and for business owners who have never written a business plan. Major components of a business plan will be discussed such as determining market feasibility, projecting costs, developing strategies, and planning for contingencies. Learn why the business plan is an important tool.

Business Plan Financials

Provides further detail on the financial portion of the business plan. It allows for hands-on experience using a detailed sample spreadsheet in our computer lab.
