Meet Our Administrative Team

Morrison Woods

Director

Morrison manages the daily operations of the SBDC, including strategic and operational planning, setting policies and procedures, committee involvement with other Institute for Economic Development programs and numerous economic development activities.

Before joining the SBDC in 1989, Morrison worked in international trade with the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and program management with the San Antonio Mexican Chamber of Commerce. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer with a fishing cooperative in Costa Rica after which he worked for a Costa Rican shoe-manufacturing firm. Morrison holds an MBA and BBA in Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin.

Morrison’s hobbies include travel, photography, hiking, birding, cooking, Longhorn Football, history and Renaissance, Celtic and Oktoberfest events.

Richard Sifuentes

Assistant Director

Richard provides guidance and training to the Business Advisors of the SBDC.

His areas of expertise include business set-up, business plan development, management, operations, small business certifications, government contracting, construction and real estate.

Richard joined the SBDC in 2005 and has many years of experience in business management, construction, government contracting, real estate and mortgage consulting. His previous background as a business analyst enables him to successfully advise business owners on all aspects of starting or expanding a business. He has also owned his own small business consulting practice. Richard holds a MA from Webster University and BS from Trinity University.

Richard’s hobbies include watching sports, spending time with family, cycling and exercising. He is a San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys fan.

Anna Borrego

Stakeholder Communications Coordinator

Anna communicates SBDC client successes to stakeholder groups. She collaborates and connects with small business groups to promote the services of the SBDC.

Anna joined the SBDC in 2007. Her background is in customer service, marketing, communications and management. She holds a BBA in Marketing from Our Lady of the Lake University.

Anna’s hobbies include watching college and NFL football, NBA basketball, running and traveling.

Janie Paschal

Senior Administrative Associate

Janie assists potential and existing business owners with information about the SBDC, including workshops, online training and business advising services. She produces reports for internal and external partners and manages our client database.

Before joining the SBDC in 2009, Janie spent the majority of her career working for the country’s fourth largest P&C Insurance Company where she was a Director of Insurance Operations. She brings over 30 years of managerial, administrative and customer service experience to her position. She is also a small business owner. Janie holds a BBA in Marketing from Abilene Christian University and graduated from the Executive Education Program from the Darden Graduate School of Business, University of Virginia.

Janie spends her free time working in her garden, reading and spending time with family.

    Marion Perry

    Administrative Assistant

    Marion assists potential and existing business owners with information about the SBDC regarding our workshops, on-line training and business advising services. She also assists with reports for internal and external partners and helps to ensure our client database is current.

    She joined the SBDC in 2014. Prior to working with us, Marion was the administrative assistant to the Dean of the College of Business at UTSA for 14 years and she also worked in the Admissions and Registrars Office for 7 years.

    Marion is pretty crafty; she loves sewing and clothing/costume design. She can do Argentine tango and other International Folk dance. Traveling, yard work and the occasional indulgence in British sitcoms are also among her favorite things to do.

    Cheryl Henslee

    Administrative Assistant

    Cheryl is the first person our clients contact at our SBDC Satellite Office in New Braunfels.  She assists with valuable information about services provided by the SBDC, including workshops, online training and business advising services. She is also responsible for outreach in the Seguin/New Braunfels area and serves as a liason to our San Antonio office.

    Prior to joining the SBDC in 2014, Cheryl worked in the non-profit sector with the Frisco Education Foundation and the Foundation Fighting Blindness. In addition, Cheryl brings over 30 years of managerial and administrative experience with her to her position here.

    In her spare time, Cheryl can be found cycling, embroidering and spending time with her family and friends.
